Day-wise Itinerary
Day1
Day 1: Arrival in Darjeeling

Darjeeling

  • Arrive at Bagdogra Airport or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station and drive to Darjeeling (approx. 3-4 hours scenic journey through tea gardens, hills, and valleys).
  • Check-in at your hotel: Windamere Hotel (luxury), The Elgin (heritage), or Dekeling Resort (cozy and homely).
  • Relax and freshen up before heading out to explore the town.
  • Visit Chowrasta (main square) and Mall Road for a leisurely evening walk. Enjoy the view of the hills and shop for local crafts.
  • Stop by Darjeeling Clock Tower, an iconic landmark. Spend some time soaking in the local culture.
  • For dinner, try the famous Kunga Restaurant or Glenary’s Bakery & Café for delicious local food, Tibetan specialties like momos, and bakery treats.

Day2
Day 2: Darjeeling Sightseeing – Classic Attractions

Darjeeling

  • Early morning departure to Tiger Hill (approx. 11 km), renowned for sunrise views of Kanchenjunga and Mount Everest (weather permitting). Arrive before 5 AM to catch the spectacular sunrise.
  • After sunrise, visit Batasia Loop and War Memorial. Batasia offers a panoramic view of Darjeeling and the Himalayas, and the War Memorial honors Gorkha soldiers.
  • Visit the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park (open from 8:30 AM), home to the endangered red panda and snow leopard.

  • Visit Sumendu Lake, the main attraction in Mirik, offering boat rides with a backdrop of the Himalayas. Also, visit the Kali Mandir located on the hilltop.
  • On the way back, stop by the Teesta River for scenic views and possible river rafting. The river is known for its beauty, and some operators offer rafting experiences.
  • Explore one of the famous tea estates in Darjeeling, such as Senchal Tea Estate or Selim Hill Tea Estate. Learn about the tea production process and enjoy fresh Darjeeling tea.

  • Drive to Lepchajagat (approx. 20 minutes from Darjeeling), a peaceful village known for its serene surroundings, tea estates, and panoramic views of Kanchenjunga.
